Therapy FAQs: Starting Your Work With Me
Do you accept insurance?
I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I do not work directly with insurance providers. I do provide a monthly statement that you can submit to your insurance. If your plan includes an out-of-network benefit, you might be able to be reimbursed for a percentage of each session. I partner with a service called Mentaya to help patients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. You can check whether you have out-of-network benefits here.

I care deeply about access to therapy and dedicate 25% of my available sessions to low-fee spots. While those are currently full, you're welcome to email me and join the waitlist for reduced-rate sessions.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes, I see clients in person in Herndon, Virginia, and in Arlington, Virginia.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, I offer virtual therapy for anyone located in Virginia.
How much does therapy cost?
Rates for psychotherapy sessions will be discussed during your free 15-minute phone consultation.
How long will I be in therapy?
That really depends on your goals and what brings you in. My approach is often deeper, insight-oriented work, which tends to be a slower process. Psychodynamic psychotherapy typically unfoldes over years not months.
What services are you unable to provide?
I am not a medical doctor, so I am unable to prescribe medication. I also do not offer ADHD or Autism assessments or court-mandated counseling. Letters for emotional support animals or disability accommodations are reserved for clients with whom a therapeutic relationship exists and are evaluated on an individual basis.
